Partner Steven Goodstadt will discuss student discipline proceedings in accordance with Education Law 3214. In this program you will hear from the School District vs. Parent counsel for public school students (with or without disabilities); the difference between Principal’s suspension vs Superintendent’s hearing and the requisite requirements and authority of each; the evidentiary burden of proof at a Superintendent’s hearing; and the subsequent impact of the anecdotal record for students who wish to attend college and/or apply for positions with FBI/Police officer. Lastly, the program will provide attorneys with the appellate procedure of student suspensions.
