ATTORNEY:

Steven A. Goodstadt, Esq.

Partner Steven Goodstadt will discuss the rights and protections under federal and state laws for students turning 18 and being legally considered adults. In the absence of certain legal documents such as Power of Attorney, Healthcare Power of Attorney (also known as Healthcare Proxy or Healthcare Representative), HIPAA Waiver, and FERPA Waiver, parents or guardians would not be authorized to make decisions or access information on behalf of their 18-year-old in the event of an emergency creating significant legal obstacles.
