Michael G. McAlvin
Partner
Michael McAlvin is a Partner who focuses on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship for his clients. His practice areas include preventing employment discrimination and workplace harassment, conducting labor arbitrations, developing employee training, managing employee discipline, creating policy, and handling litigation. Mr. McAlvin also defends against civil rights claims brought by both employees and students.
Mr. McAlvin advises employers on effective labor practices, collective bargaining, and general education law matters. He regularly practices before New York State courts and appears before New York’s Public Employment Relations Board.
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. McAlvin frequently assists clients in proceedings before the New York State Education Department, the U.S. Department of Education, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and various other administrative agencies. He also shares his knowledge by speaking on panels concerning Education Law and other municipal law topics.
