Gus Mountanos is a Partner at Ingerman Smith, bringing extensive experience in public sector labor and education law to his practice. He represents the Firm’s clients, primarily in Westchester County, in various legal matters. This includes litigation in state and federal courts, and appearances before the Commissioner of Education, Public Employment Relations Board, and New York State Division of Human Rights.

 

Mr. Mountanos also handles teacher and employee disciplinary proceedings under both Education Law § 3020-a and Civil Service Law § 75. He is involved in collective negotiations for administrative, teacher, and non-instructional bargaining units, and their related arbitration proceedings.

 

Mr. Mountanos joined Ingerman Smith after graduating from Hofstra University School of Law, where he was a member of the Hofstra Labor Law Journal. He is a frequent speaker on labor, employment, and school law topics at seminars and workshops across New York State.
