Christopher Venator brings over 39 years of legal practice to his role. Mr. Venator is a skilled litigator and served as principal trial counsel in numerous employment law and civil rights cases before administrative tribunals, and state and federal courts for municipal and school district clients. He has tried many special education student matters before administrative tribunals and in the courts, including appearances before federal district courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, as well as before the New York State Court of Appeals.
He frequently litigates before teacher tenure and employee discharge tribunals, before the State Division of Human Rights and before the Public Employment Relations Board. He has substantial practice representing school district clients in collective bargaining and related arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Venator’s litigation skills were honed during his service as an Assistant District Attorney when he prosecuted numerous felony trials. Prior to joining Ingerman Smith, Mr. Venator worked for prestigious law firms in Manhattan and Nassau County where he concentrated in commercial litigation, product liability, and labor law.
